Our Mission
What stood out about Legl was the ability to bring identity verification, risk assessments, ongoing monitoring and compliance oversight together in one place, in a way that is practical for our lawyers and clients to work with day to day.

Our partnership with Legl enables us to stay ahead of AML change while delivering more efficient and intuitive experiences for our clients.

Client intake, client onboarding, AML, CDD, risk assessments, ongoing monitoring, source of funds, e-Signatures, custom forms, payments and more for regulated firms. Legl enables your firm to deliver a best-in-class digital client experience, whilst saving you time and cost in your back office processes.
COLPs/MLROs and compliance teams get firm-wide oversight and audit trails; fee-earners get onboarding that doesn’t slow down matter opening; finance teams and COFAs get faster payments and reconciliation, and better working capital cycles. Executive teams get visibility across the firm and new opportunities to increase margins, profitability and to grow scalably.
Most of Legl’s customers are law firms in the UK and Australia. However, lots of other types of regulated businesses also use Legl to support their day-to-day operations across client onboarding, AML and compliance. This includes accountancy firms, tax advisors, estate agents and other types of professional services businesses.
Agents gather and parse information and documents, operate remediation loops with clients to collect the correct details from the outset, research and structure information for faster screening and ongoing monitoring and more. Agents are there to flag discrepancies and non-conformity with your firm’s risk policies for human attention.
Your firm’s risk policies, procedures and processes are codified into a set of rules which are applied consistently across your client onboarding and AML processes. Legl’s agents ensure that the rules are enforced, remediating directly with the firm’s client, and ensuring that firm staff are equipped with the right information to make quick decisions.
Legl integrates with practice management, case management, document management and other systems your firm may already use. You can find out more about Legl’s native integrations with practice management systems like Clio Manage, Clio Operate, Actionstep, Partner for Windows, iManage, NetDocuments, Peppermint (Litera) and more on our integrations page.
Yes. Legl is certified under the UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF), which means our identity checking has been independently audited against the government’s standard rather than just described as compliant by us.
Legl’s pricing is pay-as-you-go and based on what your firm actually uses. There are no credit packs to buy upfront, no bundles to guess at, and no bad surprises at the end of the year. Put simply, Legl scales in line with your firm’s growth and success. For firms building governance across the whole business, there are premium add-ons available on top of the core platform.
Regulated firms of all sizes can use Legl to support their client onboarding, enhance their client experience and ensure that payments and AML are done compliantly. Depending on the size of your firm, you could be set up in just a day. For a mid-sized firm, the process typically takes around a week. Legl’s dedicated implementation team support your firm throughout the process, including with process mapping, integrating systems and change management in your firm.
There are many different payment methods for your firm’s clients, all designed to give a seamless experience, and to help your firm to get paid as quickly as possible. This includes digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay, bank transfers through open banking technology, card payments etc. Firms can choose to embed a portal on their website, to generate payment links or to integrate payment steps into other processes across the client lifecycle, including for client onboarding.
